Advising

Beginning in fall 2019, GSS students will go to the new Tykeson Hall for Academic and Career Advising. Tykeson Hall is located in the heart of campus between Johnson and Chapman Halls. Information on how to schedule an appointment with an advisor will be available soon.

New System for Advising

SUMMER 2019 only: Current and prospective majors in need of immediate advising can meet with an advisor in the Office of Academic Advising. Please be patient, as the advisors on campus are particularly busy this summer while they prepare to offer a new, more comprehensive advising experience for students at Tykeson Hall.

GSS advisors Gretchen Hill-Marino and Ryan Smith are in the process of moving from PLC to Tykeson Hall. They will join a team of professional academic and career advisors who will address the advising needs of all students in the College of Arts and Sciences, including GSS students. Information on how to schedule an appointment with an advisor in Tykeson Hall will be available soon.

Prospective Majors

Prospective majors are encouraged to meet with an advisor in the Public Policy, Society and Identity Flight Path in Tykeson Hall to determine if GSS is the right fit for you.

Current Majors

Current majors are encouraged to meet with an advisor at least once a year to confirm that appropriate progress is being made towards completion of your degree.

Graduating Majors

Graduating majors are strongly encouraged to meet with their advisor during the first term of the year you plan to graduate in, to confirm your progress towards your degree and discuss career plans.
